Many teachers do not feel well prepared to teach writing. Writing Aviator provides a two-year, high-quality, professional development program that gives teachers everything they need take on this role with confidence.

This professional development program provides solid grounding in the latest research on effective writing instruction. Teachers, literacy coaches, and principals study videotaped examples of Writing Aviator in action; participate in full simulations of daily lessons; and have many opportunities to discuss and reflect on their own classes and students’ progress. Certified trainers take special care to foster a learning community and provide follow-up technical assistance and coaching as needed.
