Comprehensive Assessments from an International Leader
The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) developed Ramp-Up Literacy’s formative assessment system exclusively for America’s Choice. ACER, a recognized world leader in educational test design, helped develop items for the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and created the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA).
Through end-of-unit tests, teachers evaluate students’ skills in reading comprehension, vocabulary, and writing to provide a reliable snapshot of student progress over the year and to help make appropriate placement decisions for subsequent years. Teachers also learn to determine students’ independent reading levels and fluency and accuracy rates, while also tracking the number of pages read during independent reading, so students can be grouped appropriately for instruction.
Ramp-Up Literacy’s assessment tools enable teachers to prepare students for success on state tests in English language arts, reading, and writing.
