Improving schools requires a strong Leadership Team. With the
principal at its helm, the Leadership Team drives implementation of the
design. In addition to the principal, the team includes the assistant
principal(s), literacy coach, math coach, science lead teacher, parent
and community outreach coordinator, and other key instructional staff
such as the ELL coordinator.
America’s Choice helps everyone on the Leadership Team get on the
same page, prepared to work together on standards-based school
improvement. The America’s Choice design features intensive, sustained
leadership development through Leadership Academies for school teams
and Principals Networks for peer-to-peer collaboration. Throughout the
school year, senior America’s Choice staff members serve as coaches for
the principal and Leadership Team. Study groups and teacher meetings
provide continuing professional development and build team capacity for
grade-level and subject-area teachers.
