Design Your Own Assessment
New York City requires all schools to implement periodic assessments to inform instructional decisions that improve student performance. America’s Choice DYOA provides professional development and technical assistance to schools on:
- A review and analysis of their current assessment efforts,
- Developing a basis for common assessment that augments or replaces assessments to best fit the school’s needs and desires;
- Professional development and technical assistance for on-going work on assessment that includes the characteristics of formative assessments and classroom assessment, the use of summative data for initial planning, analyzing student work and linking assessment to instruction.
- Design and implementation of a study to establish the rigor of the proposed assessment system and validates its alignment to standards;
- And the creation of a reliable reporting mechanism compatible with the new data management system needs.
